Molly Throdahl

XC Mountain Bike Racer: After moving out west to go to school I knew I was going to stay put, because of the active outdoor lifestyle. I’ve always been an endurance athlete from swimming to climbing mountains, triathlon, and now cycling. Stepping up to the challenges in a bike race and doing my best is one way I find peace and fulfillment in life. The mountains are powerful places, and I believe that being on my bike in them was a cornerstone of my sobriety. Riding for Phoenix Multisport has enabled me to be more serious about mountain bike racing and as a result helps me succeed and reach my athletic goals. I am grateful for the opportunity to be involved with PM and follow my passion.

griff Duncan

X- Country Mountain Bike Racer:
Cycling has been a passion of mine for over a decade. Unfortunately, for much of that time I was actively using drugs and alcohol. Self-destructive behavior led me down a road bent toward pain and misery where I ended up alone, terrrified, and bewildered again and again. The only time i felt good was when I was riding my bike. I started racing in 2001 with marginal results, I was still drinking and using during this time and I wasn’t stable. I found sobriety September 2006. The life I have today as a sober person and a sober athlere is infinitely better than before. I beieve in God today and God believes in me. My cycling is totally different. I don’t ride to escape and punish myslef, I ride to feel closer to my maker and to feel the rhythm of spirit. Cycling has a purity that is beyond description, it is a metaphor for life.

Riding for Phoenix Multisport is an honor and my results this year are beyond my expectations. I look forward to next year as a pro/semi-pro.
